Free NAP Consistency Checker

Check that your business name, address and phone number match across your website and directory listings, and see exactly where they differ.

Quick answer

NAP Consistency Checker: Check that your business name, address and phone number match across your website and directory listings, and see exactly where they differ. It is free, needs no sign-up and runs in your browser. How to use it: 1) enter your business name, address and phone exactly as on Google; 2) add up to 6 page addresses, or switch to manual mode and paste listing text; 3) fix every listing marked Different or Missing. For each page you add, our server downloads it and reads the visible text, phone links and any JSON-LD schema. It then looks for your name, address and phone using rules that ignore harmless formatting differences.

How the NAP checker works

For each page you add, our server downloads it and reads the visible text, phone links and any JSON-LD schema. It then looks for your name, address and phone using rules that ignore harmless formatting differences.

  • Name: compared without capital letters, punctuation or suffixes such as LLC, Inc and Ltd. If only part of the name is found, it is marked Different.
  • Phone: all formats are reduced to digits and matched on the last 9 digits, so +1 (617) 555-0142 and 617.555.0142 match. If other numbers are found instead, they are shown.
  • Address: we look for the street number with the first street word, and the ZIP or postcode. Street and St, Avenue and Ave, Suite and Ste are treated as the same.

Each result shows the text snippet where the match was found so you can confirm it.

Manual mode

Many directories such as Yelp and Facebook block automated visits or load details with JavaScript. In manual mode you paste the text from each listing, separated by a line with three dashes, and the same matching runs in your browser.

Limitations

The tool checks the pages you provide; it does not search the web for listings. Unusual address formats may need a manual look. A Match means the details were found on the page, not that the listing is verified or ranking.

FAQ

NAP Consistency Checker FAQs

What does NAP consistency mean?

It means your business name, address and phone number are written the same way everywhere they appear online: your website, Google Business Profile, Apple Maps, Bing, Yelp, Facebook and industry directories. Consistent details help search engines trust your location data.

Do small formatting differences like St and Street matter?

Google is good at understanding abbreviations, so St versus Street is not a big problem. Real differences matter more: an old address, a different phone number, a tracking number, or a name with extra keywords. This tool ignores harmless formatting and flags real mismatches.

Why did a directory listing fail to load?

Many directories block automated requests or load business details with JavaScript after the page opens. When that happens, switch to manual mode, copy the name, address and phone text from the listing in your browser and paste it in. The matching works the same way.

Which listings should I check first?

Start with your website, Google Business Profile, Apple Business Connect, Bing Places, Facebook and Yelp. Then check the main directories in your country and industry, such as Yellow Pages, BBB, TripAdvisor or legal and medical directories. Fix the most visible ones first.
