CPC Calculator: Calculate cost per click, or solve for total cost or clicks, then find the highest CPC you can pay and still hit your target cost per acquisition. It is free, needs no sign-up and runs in your browser. How to use it: 1) choose what to solve for; 2) enter the other two values; 3) optionally add a target CPA and conversion rate; 4) click Calculate to see CPC, max CPC and a what-if table. Cost per click is the average amount you pay each time someone clicks your ad. The calculator solves for any one of the three values, cost, clicks or CPC, when you give it the other two.
How the CPC calculator works
Cost per click is the average amount you pay each time someone clicks your ad. The calculator solves for any one of the three values, cost, clicks or CPC, when you give it the other two. It works the same for Google Ads, Microsoft Ads, Meta, LinkedIn and any other pay per click platform.
Formulas
CPC = total cost / clicksTotal cost = clicks x CPCClicks = total cost / CPCMax CPC = target CPA x conversion rate
Maximum CPC
A cheap click is only good if it turns into a customer at a cost you can afford. If your target cost per acquisition is 50 and 5 percent of clicks convert, you can pay up to 2.50 per click and still hit your target. The tool also shows your implied CPA at your current CPC so you can see whether bids are too high.
What-if table
The table shows how many clicks the same spend buys if CPC moves up or down by 10 and 20 percent. It helps when you plan around rising competition or seasonal price changes.
Limitations
The tool calculates averages from your numbers. Real CPC varies by keyword, time of day, device, location and quality score. It does not fetch live auction prices. Always judge keywords by cost per acquisition and profit, not by CPC alone.
CPC Calculator FAQs
What is a good cost per click?
A good CPC is one that lets you hit your target cost per acquisition. Work it out by multiplying your target CPA by your conversion rate. A 10 dollar click can be great for a high value service and a 1 dollar click can be too expensive for a low price product.
How do I calculate CPC?
Divide your total ad cost by the number of clicks. For example, 500 spent for 250 clicks gives a CPC of 2.00. Use the same date range and campaign for both numbers so the average is accurate. This calculator also solves for cost or clicks if you know the other two values.
How can I lower my CPC?
Improve ad relevance and landing page experience to raise quality score, add negative keywords, target tighter locations and schedules, and test long tail keywords with less competition. Better click-through rates usually bring lower CPCs on both Google and Meta. Pause keywords that spend without converting.
What is the difference between CPC and CPA?
CPC is the cost of one click. CPA is the cost of one conversion, such as a lead or sale. CPA equals CPC divided by your conversion rate, so you can lower CPA either by paying less per click or by converting more of your clicks.
