How the meta title generator works

The generator fills proven title patterns with the details you enter. Each page type has its own set: service and local pages lead with the keyword and place, product pages focus on buying words, blog posts use guide and question formats, and homepages lead with the brand. Patterns that need a detail you left empty are skipped, so you never see placeholders. Click Generate more for a fresh set.

Pixel width, not just characters

Google cuts titles by width, not by a fixed character count. The tool measures each title with an Arial character width table at 20px, the size Google uses for desktop titles, and compares it with a limit of about 600px. Wide letters such as W and M take more room than i or l, so two 55 character titles can behave differently.

What each check means

  • Fits: the full title should show on desktop.
  • May be cut: Google will likely end it with an ellipsis. The preview shows where.
  • Keyword position: titles that start with the keyword are easier to scan.

Optional AI mode

When enabled on this site, an extra card offers AI written ideas. The formula results always work without it.

Limitations

Widths are estimates. Google may also rewrite titles it thinks do not match the page, so keep every title accurate and unique.

FAQ

Meta Title Generator FAQs

How long should a meta title be?

Aim for roughly 50 to 60 characters, but the real limit is width. Google shows about 600 pixels of a title on desktop before cutting it. This tool measures the pixel width of every suggestion so you can see which titles will display in full and which will be shortened.

Should the keyword go at the start of the title?

Putting the main keyword near the start helps both searchers and search engines see that the page matches the query, and it stays visible even if the title is cut. It is not a strict rule. A natural, clickable title matters more than forcing the keyword to the very front.

Should I include my brand name in the title?

Usually yes, at the end, separated with a pipe or dash. It builds recognition and can improve clicks when people know your name. On long titles, drop the brand first because Google often shows the site name separately above the result anyway.

Why does Google show a different title from mine?

Google rewrites titles that are too long, stuffed with keywords, unclear or inconsistent with the page heading. Keep your title accurate, unique for each page and close to your H1. Titles that fit the width and describe the page clearly are rewritten less often.
