How the local keyword generator works

Local searches follow predictable patterns. People type a service and a place, add “near me”, or ask a question. The tool combines every service with every location using those patterns, removes duplicates, and groups the results by intent.

Patterns used

GroupExamples
Local serviceplumber queens, plumber in queens, queens plumber
Near meplumber near me, best plumber near me
Urgentemergency plumber queens, 24 hour plumber queens
Comparisonbest plumber in queens, top rated plumber queens
Costplumber cost queens, how much does plumber cost in queens
Questionswho is the best plumber in queens

ZIP codes are only used in natural forms such as “plumber 11432”. You can also add a state abbreviation to city keywords.

How to use the list

Pick one main keyword for each page, use close variations in headings and FAQs, and map urgent and cost keywords to the sections that answer them. Export to CSV to sort and plan in a spreadsheet.

Limitations

These are ideas, not data. We do not show search volumes or difficulty because we will not guess them. Check real demand in Google Keyword Planner or our free Keyword Research tool in the SEO tools section before building pages. Many combinations will have little search volume, especially for small neighbourhoods.

FAQ

Local Keyword Generator FAQs

What are local keywords?

Local keywords are searches that include a place or local intent, such as “dentist in Brooklyn”, “plumber near me” or “emergency locksmith 10001”. They usually come from people ready to buy or visit soon, so they are valuable for service businesses and shops that serve a specific area.

Should I target “near me” keywords on my website?

You rarely need to write “near me” on your pages. Google works out nearness from the searcher’s location and your Google Business Profile. Focus on clearly stating your services and the areas you serve, and keep your profile complete. “Near me” lists are still useful for ads and research.

How many local keywords should one page target?

One main keyword plus close variations is best. For example, a page can target “roof repair Dallas” and naturally include “roof repair in Dallas” and “Dallas roofers”. Creating separate pages for tiny wording changes leads to thin, duplicate content that rarely ranks.

Why does the tool not show search volume?

Search volume needs data from a search engine, and estimating it would mean making numbers up. We prefer to give you honest keyword ideas. Paste the list into Google Keyword Planner or our Keyword Research tool to see real data, then keep the terms that people actually search.
