SEO Score Checker: Enter any web address and get an instant SEO score out of 100, with every check explained in plain English and the fixes that matter most listed first. It is free, needs no sign-up and runs in your browser. How to use it: 1) enter your website address (with or without https); 2) pick your business category for tailored keyword and schema checks; 3) read your score, open each group and fix the red items first. Our server opens your page the way a search engine does and runs more than 40 checks in five groups: technical SEO and crawlability, on-page content, speed and mobile experience, structured data and AI search readiness, and local SEO and conversion. It also reads your robots.txt, XML sitemap and llms.txt files, tests the HTTP to HTTPS redirect and asks Google PageSpeed Insights for your mobile performance data.
How the SEO score checker works
Our server opens your page the way a search engine does and runs more than 40 checks in five groups: technical SEO and crawlability, on-page content, speed and mobile experience, structured data and AI search readiness, and local SEO and conversion. It also reads your robots.txt, XML sitemap and llms.txt files, tests the HTTP to HTTPS redirect and asks Google PageSpeed Insights for your mobile performance data.
How the score is calculated
Each check has a weight based on its impact on rankings and leads. A pass earns full points, an item to improve earns half and an item to fix earns none. The group scores and the overall score are the weighted percentage of points earned. Grades run from A (90 and above) to E (below 45).
| Grade | Score |
|---|---|
| A | 90 to 100 |
| B | 75 to 89 |
| C | 60 to 74 |
| D | 45 to 59 |
| E | Below 45 |
Business category
Choosing your category changes the keyword check, the recommended schema types and the calls to action we look for. A limo company and a dental clinic need different signals.
Limitations
The tool checks one page, usually your home page, not your whole site. It cannot see rankings, backlinks or Search Console data, and pages that block bots may score lower than they deserve. PageSpeed data depends on Google’s free service and can be missing at busy times. Use the score to find quick wins, then confirm bigger changes with a full audit.
SEO Score Checker FAQs
What is a good SEO score?
A score of 75 or more (grade B) means the basics are in place. Above 90 is excellent. Most small business sites we test land between 50 and 70, usually because of missing schema, weak titles, slow mobile speed or no click-to-call link. Fix the red items first, as they carry the most weight.
Does a higher SEO score guarantee better rankings?
No. The score measures how well your page follows proven SEO practices, which makes ranking easier. Rankings also depend on content quality, backlinks, reviews, competition and search intent. Think of the score as a health check: a low score holds you back, a high score removes obstacles.
How often should I check my SEO score?
Check after every major change to your site, such as a redesign, new theme, plugin update or new page template. Otherwise once a month is enough. For tracked progress over time, our free 6-month audit sends a PDF report every month.
Why is my score different from other SEO tools?
Every tool uses its own checks and weights, so scores are not directly comparable. Ours focuses on what affects small and local businesses most: indexing, titles, speed, schema, local signals and conversion. Compare the individual issues found rather than the headline number.
