About

About Angel Stadium

Angel Stadium has been the home of the Los Angeles Angels since it opened on April 19, 1966 at 2000 Gene Autry Way in Anaheim. The City of Anaheim owns the ballpark, and Angels Baseball LP operates it. It was called Anaheim Stadium until 1997, then Edison International Field of Anaheim from 1998 to 2003, following a renovation completed in April 1998. Today it seats 45,517 for baseball. At its largest, around 1980, the stadium listed capacities of 64,593 for baseball and 69,008 for football. The Angels won the 2002 World Series here, beating the San Francisco Giants for the franchise's first championship. The landmark Big A, a 230-foot sign that once supported a left field scoreboard, still stands near the eastern edge of the parking lot and gave the stadium its nickname. The ballpark sits close to Honda Center, and the ARTIC regional transit center is just across State Route 57, so train travel to games is practical.

Also known as: Angel Stadium of Anaheim, Anaheim Stadium, Edison International Field of Anaheim, The Big A.
