About

About Petco Park

Petco Park opened on April 8, 2004 in downtown San Diego's East Village, next to the Gaslamp Quarter, and has been home to the San Diego Padres ever since. It seats 39,860 for baseball. The City of San Diego owns 70 percent of the ballpark and the Padres own the other 30 percent, with Padres LP running day-to-day operations. Its most famous feature is the restored Western Metal Supply Co. building, a historic brick warehouse built into the left field corner, where the building's southeast corner serves as the foul pole. Beyond the outfield, Gallagher Square is open to the public when the stadium is not hosting events. The ballpark is commonly listed at 100 Park Boulevard, while its official address is 19 Tony Gwynn Way, named for the Padres Hall of Famer. The main entrance faces the 12th and Imperial trolley station, so transit is easy. Petco Park also hosted the Holiday Bowl before the game moved to Snapdragon Stadium in 2024.

Also known as: PETCO Park.
