Quick answer

Date Calculator: Count the days between two dates, find working days that skip weekends and holidays, or add and subtract days, weeks, months and years from any date. It is free, needs no sign-up and runs in your browser. How to use it: 1) choose days between dates, or add or subtract; 2) pick the dates or enter an amount and unit; 3) set your weekend days and add any holidays; 4) click Calculate and copy the result. The calculator has two modes. Both handle dates as whole calendar days, so time zones and daylight saving changes never add or lose a day.

How the date calculator works

The calculator has two modes. Both handle dates as whole calendar days, so time zones and daylight saving changes never add or lose a day.

Days between two dates

You get the difference in calendar days, in years, months and days, in weeks, and in business days. By default the start date is counted and the end date is not, so 1 May to 2 May is 1 day. Tick Include the end date to count both, which is common for leave and rental periods.

Business days

Business days are calendar days minus weekend days and any holidays you list. You can pick Saturday and Sunday, Friday and Saturday as used in several Gulf countries, Sunday only, Friday only, or no weekend. Paste public holidays in YYYY-MM-DD format.

Add or subtract

  • Days and weeks move the date by exact days.
  • Business days skip weekends and listed holidays, and the start date is not counted.
  • Months and years keep the same day of the month. If that day does not exist, the last day of the month is used, so 31 January plus 1 month is 28 or 29 February.

Limitations

The tool does not know public holidays, because they vary by country, region and company. Add the ones that apply to you. It uses the Gregorian calendar only. For legal, payroll or contract deadlines, confirm how your organisation counts days, since rules differ. It runs in your browser and works offline.

FAQ

Date Calculator FAQs

How do I calculate the number of days between two dates?

Pick the start and end dates and click Calculate. The tool counts the calendar days between them and also shows weeks, months and business days. By default the end date is not counted, so 1 to 2 May is one day. Tick Include the end date if you need both days counted.

How are business days calculated?

Business days are the days between two dates minus weekend days and any holidays you list. Choose your weekend, such as Saturday and Sunday or Friday and Saturday, and paste holiday dates in YYYY-MM-DD format. The result shows how many weekend days and holidays were skipped.

What date is 90 days from today?

Choose Add or subtract from a date, keep the start date as today, enter 90 and pick Calendar days. The result shows the exact date and weekday. Pick Business days instead if the deadline only counts working days, such as many delivery or payment terms.

What happens when I add a month to 31 January?

February has no 31st, so the calculator uses the last day of February, which is the 28th or the 29th in a leap year. This is the same rule most spreadsheets and banking systems use. The tool shows a note whenever it adjusts the day like this.
