Pick one of 15 types: LocalBusiness with common subtypes, Organization, Person, Product, Service, FAQPage, HowTo, Article or BlogPosting, Event, BreadcrumbList, WebSite, VideoObject, JobPosting, Course and Recipe. The form changes for each type, with repeatable rows for opening hours, FAQs, breadcrumbs, steps and social profiles.
How the schema markup generator works
Pick one of 15 types: LocalBusiness with common subtypes, Organization, Person, Product, Service, FAQPage, HowTo, Article or BlogPosting, Event, BreadcrumbList, WebSite, VideoObject, JobPosting, Course and Recipe. The form changes for each type, with repeatable rows for opening hours, FAQs, breadcrumbs, steps and social profiles. The JSON-LD updates as you type, empty fields are left out, and the code is wrapped in a ready to paste script tag.
Validation
Each type is checked against the required and recommended properties in Google’s structured data documentation as of 2025. The tool also flags URLs without https, latitude and longitude out of range, end dates before start dates, missing event locations and phone numbers without a country code.
Guidelines built in
- Review and rating fields only appear when you confirm you have real reviews shown on the page.
- LocalBusiness has no rating fields, because Google ignores reviews a business adds about itself.
- FAQ rich results are now limited to well-known government and health sites, and how-to rich results were retired, but both remain valid schema.
Limitations
Valid markup makes a page eligible for rich results, but Google decides whether to show them. Markup must match visible content. Always test the live page in Google’s Rich Results Test after publishing.
Schema Markup Generator FAQs
What is schema markup and why does it matter?
Schema markup is code that describes your content in a format search engines understand, such as your business hours, product price or event date. It can make pages eligible for rich results and helps search engines and AI assistants understand your business accurately.
Where do I add JSON-LD code on my website?
Paste the script tag into the page head or body. On WordPress, use a header code plugin, your SEO plugin’s custom schema option or a custom HTML block. Add markup only to the page it describes, for example Product markup on that product page.
Can I add review stars with schema?
Only for real reviews that visitors can see on the page. Google ignores self-serving reviews in LocalBusiness and Organization markup, and fake or copied reviews break its guidelines and can lead to a manual action. This tool only shows rating fields after you confirm your reviews are genuine.
Do FAQ and HowTo schema still work?
The markup is still valid and can help other search engines and AI tools understand your page. However, Google limited FAQ rich results to well-known government and health websites in 2023 and stopped showing how-to rich results the same year.
