Business Days Calculator: Count working days between two dates, or add and subtract business days to find a deadline. Choose your weekend, add your own holidays, and use US federal or Pakistan holiday presets. It is free, needs no sign-up and runs in your browser. How to use it: 1) choose to count days between dates or to add or subtract business days; 2) pick your weekend pattern and tick the US or Pakistan holiday presets if you need them; 3) add your own holidays, one per line, then read the result and the list of skipped days. The calculator walks through the calendar one day at a time. Days that fall on your weekend, or on a holiday from your list or a preset, are skipped and listed.
How the business days calculator works
The calculator walks through the calendar one day at a time. Days that fall on your weekend, or on a holiday from your list or a preset, are skipped and listed. Every other day counts as one business day. In add mode it starts the day after your start date and stops when it has counted the number of days you asked for.
Weekends and holidays
Choose Saturday and Sunday, Friday and Saturday, Friday only or Sunday only. Your own holidays are saved on this device and can repeat every year using MM-DD. The US preset computes the 11 federal holidays for any year, with optional observed dates when one falls on a weekend. The Pakistan preset includes the fixed-date public holidays: Kashmir Day, Pakistan Day, Labour Day, Youm-e-Takbeer, Independence Day, Iqbal Day and Quaid-e-Azam Day.
Formulas
- Business days = calendar days – weekend days – holidays on working days
- Working weeks = business days / working days per week
Example: 2 to 30 November 2026 with a Saturday and Sunday weekend has 21 weekdays. With US holidays, Veterans Day and Thanksgiving are skipped, leaving 19 business days.
Limitations
Eid ul Fitr, Eid ul Adha, Ashura and other Islamic holidays follow the moon and change every year, so they are not in the Pakistan preset. Add them as your own holidays once they are announced. Governments sometimes add one-off holidays. Always check the official calendar before relying on a legal or payment deadline.
Business Days Calculator FAQs
How do I calculate business days between two dates?
Enter the start and end dates and choose your weekend. The calculator counts every date in the range, removes weekend days and any holidays on working days, and shows the business days left. You can choose whether to count the start and end dates. It also lists every skipped day and gives a month-by-month breakdown.
How do I add business days to a date?
Switch to add or subtract mode, pick the start date and enter the number of business days. The tool steps forward or back one day at a time, skipping weekends and holidays, until it has counted that many working days. For example, 5 business days after 22 December 2026 is 30 December, skipping Christmas.
Are Eid and other Islamic holidays included for Pakistan?
No. Eid ul Fitr, Eid ul Adha, Ashura and Eid Milad un Nabi follow the lunar calendar and are confirmed only after moon sighting, so the dates change every year. The Pakistan preset covers fixed-date holidays only. Add the Islamic holidays to your own list once the government announces them, and they are saved for next time.
Which countries have a Friday and Saturday weekend?
Many countries in the Middle East and North Africa, such as Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman and Egypt, use a Friday and Saturday weekend. The UAE moved to Saturday and Sunday for government work in 2022. Choose the weekend pattern that matches your office, client or bank.
