How the countdown timer works

Each countdown stores a date and an optional time. The page compares it with your device clock every second and shows the days, hours, minutes and seconds left. Countdowns are saved on this device, work offline, and sync to your free account if you sign in.

Yearly events and ages

Tick Repeats every year for birthdays and anniversaries and the countdown moves to the next one automatically. If you enter the real birth or wedding year, it also shows the age they will turn or the anniversary number. On the day itself it shows a celebration message.

Ready events

Quick picks include New Year, Christmas, Valentine’s Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Black Friday and national days. Ramadan, Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha dates are worked out on your device from the Umm al-Qura Islamic calendar built into your browser.

Sharing

Share copies or sends a short message such as “15 days to go until Sara’s birthday”. Save image creates a 1080 x 1080 PNG for WhatsApp status, Instagram or Facebook, with a small credit line at the bottom. You can also download all countdowns as a calendar file.

Limitations

Times use your device time zone, so friends in other countries may see a different hour. Islamic dates depend on moon sighting and can differ from your local announcement by a day, so edit the date if needed.

FAQ

Countdown Timer FAQs

How do I make a countdown to a date?

How accurate are the Eid countdown dates?

Yes, when Repeats every year is ticked. After the birthday passes, the countdown moves to the next year automatically. If you enter the real birth year, the countdown also shows the age the person will turn, such as Turns 31.
