Random Picker Wheel: Spin a wheel to pick a random name, prize or choice, with weights and a remove-winner option. Also flip coins, roll dice, pick random numbers and split people into fair teams. It is free, needs no sign-up and runs in your browser. How to use it: 1) type one entry per line; add *2 after an entry to make it twice as likely; 2) tap Spin and the wheel lands on a random winner, which you can remove; 3) switch tabs to flip coins, roll dice, generate numbers or split teams. Each line you type becomes a slice of the wheel. When you spin, the winner is chosen first with your device’s secure random generator, crypto.getRandomValues, and the wheel then animates to stop on that slice.
How the random picker wheel works
Each line you type becomes a slice of the wheel. When you spin, the winner is chosen first with your device’s secure random generator, crypto.getRandomValues, and the wheel then animates to stop on that slice. The animation is for fun; it never changes the result, and the winner is always the slice under the pointer.
Weights and remove winner
Add *2 or *5 after an entry to make it two or five times as likely. Its slice grows to match, so the chance of each entry is its weight divided by the total of all weights. Turn on “Remove the winner after each spin” for raffles and turn orders, so nobody is picked twice.
Other random tools
- Coin flip: flip 1 to 100 coins, with a running heads and tails count.
- Dice roller: roll up to 20 dice with 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 20 or 100 sides, plus a modifier.
- Random number generator: any whole number range, up to 1,000 results, with or without repeats.
- Team maker: shuffles names and splits them into a number of teams or teams of a set size, with sizes as even as possible.
Fairness
All results use rejection sampling, so every outcome in a range has exactly the same chance, with no modulo bias.
Limitations
- Up to 500 wheel entries; labels on very thin slices are hidden.
- Recent picks and coin counts are kept only until you leave the page.
- Saved wheels stay on this device, and sync only when you sign in.
Random Picker Wheel FAQs
Is the spin the wheel result truly random?
Yes. The winner is picked with crypto.getRandomValues, the secure random number generator built into your browser, using a method that gives every entry its exact fair chance. The spinning animation simply shows the result. No one, including us, can predict or influence the outcome, and nothing is sent to a server.
How do I make one entry more likely to win?
Add an asterisk and a number after the entry, for example “Pizza *3”. That entry then counts three times, so its slice is three times bigger and it is three times as likely to be picked as an entry with no weight. Weights can be whole numbers or decimals up to 100.
Can I use it for a giveaway or classroom picker?
Yes. Paste the names of entrants or students, one per line, and turn on “Remove the winner after each spin” so each person can only win once. Save the wheel with a name to reuse it next time. For screen sharing, the large wheel and winner banner are easy to see.
How does the team generator split people?
It shuffles the names with a secure random shuffle, then deals them into teams one by one, so team sizes never differ by more than one person. Choose a number of teams or a team size. You can also pick a random captain for each team, then tap “Shuffle again” for a fresh draw.
