About

About Kia Forum

The Kia Forum, long known simply as The Forum, opened on December 30, 1967 at 3900 West Manchester Boulevard in Inglewood. Jack Kent Cooke built it on a former golf course, and it was the home of the Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Kings until 1999. It hosted the 1984 Olympic basketball tournament, the 1991 NBA Finals, NBA and NHL All-Star Games and the 1982 Kings comeback known as the Miracle on Manchester. The building was the Great Western Forum from 1988 to 2003 and took the Kia Forum name in April 2022. Today it is a concert-focused arena that holds up to 18,000 fans, and its stage has welcomed Elvis Presley, Led Zeppelin, Queen and Rush. It also hosted the MTV Video Music Awards in 2014 and 2017, the 2023 Valorant Champions finals and the FireAid benefit in January 2025. Steve Ballmer bought the arena in 2020, and it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2014.

Also known as: The Forum, Great Western Forum, The Forum presented by Chase, LA Forum.
