Which marketplace has the lowest fees: Etsy, Amazon, eBay or Walmart?
It depends on price and fulfilment. On a $30 sale with self shipping, Etsy fees are about $3.30, eBay about $4.48 and Amazon or Walmart about $4.50 plus Amazon’s plan fee. Fixed fees hurt cheap items more, so enter your own product to see which marketplace wins for you.
How much does Etsy take from a $30 sale?
With a $25 item and $5 shipping, Etsy charges a $0.20 listing fee, a 6.5% transaction fee of $1.95 and payment processing of 3% plus $0.25, which is $1.15. That totals $3.30 before any Offsite Ads or currency conversion fees, leaving a payout of $26.70.
Does the eBay final value fee include shipping and sales tax?
Yes. eBay works out the final value fee on the total amount of the sale, which includes the item price, shipping and sales tax. Enter your buyer sales tax rate in the calculator so the eBay fee reflects it. Etsy also charges payment processing on the tax amount.
How do I find the price I need for a 25% profit margin on each marketplace?
Switch the calculator to Find the price for my target, enter 25 as your margin and fill in your costs. It searches for the lowest item price that leaves a 25% margin after every fee on Etsy, Amazon, eBay and Walmart, and highlights the marketplace that needs the lowest price.
